At this point omscaler is thinking about how to build the tank car. A new side frame building cutting guide has been built. Omscaler is looking forward to using this tool. Another idea is to make a cardstock center frame. Previously all center frames have been made of a very small piece of basswood for strength. The cardstock center beam would look more realistic but might be too weak for actual operations. Omscaler will make a test center beam before using it on the tank car. Another idea is to modify the center beam top plate. This part is not normally visible after the rail car is built. Since a new type of center beam may be used, an improved top plate may be needed.
